Hope you are all enjoying our summer which has finally arrived! The studio, even though it’s north facing has been quite warm recently to say the least – especially when the kiln has been on (which seems to be every other day at the moment!). It has been quite difficult judging how quickly pieces will dry and be ready to trim and put handles on etc…. some days I’ve found pots are almost too soft to handle and others have taken me by surprise and dried really fast.

August is generally quiet for markets, the only one I have attended this month so far was in Wisborough Green (always the second Thursday in the month 9-12.30pm, apart from January when there is no market). However, great excitement this weekend as I am taking my pottery up to Spitalfields in London to the Arts & Craft Market – quite a big step for me, but you have to give these things a go!!

On the design front I am pleased to show the photographs below of two new designs for high summer of Sweet pea & bee, and Poppy mugs and jugs. I do hope you like them.

Cheerio for now.
