Yesterday we decided to take advantage of the beautiful Spring sunshine and take our dog for a long walk. The primroses in the photo below were growing straight out of the wall and I can’t imagine how the tiny seed had managed to take hold and grow into this beautiful little clump of flowers. A lot of my inspiration for my work comes from such walks and the flowers which emerge in my garden. We even have a few bluebells beginning to flower – far too early! So, from a photo or idea I sketch a rough design and then draw this directly onto my pots using an underglaze pencil and infill the design with coloured underglazes to give a sort of watercolour effect.

I guess you could call these photos ‘Beginning and End’. Hope you like them.
